¿Qué es la Sriracha y cómo se hace?

Hemos visto que sirven Sriracha en Pizza Hut y Taco Bell. Heinz tiene un sabor Sriracha. Incluso hay cerveza de Sriracha. Lo entendemos, el mundo ama esta salsa fermentada. ¿De qué está hecha y por qué es tan famosa?

Originaria de Tailandia, (específicamente del puerto de Si Racha) esta salsa de chile picante está hecha a base de ajo, vinagre, azúcar y sal. Se popularizó cuando el famoso vietnamita David Tran hizo su propia versión incorporándole un gallo al logotipo. (En honor al año de nacimiento según el horóscopo chino). En la década de los ochenta, Tras emigró a Estados Unidos y estableció su negocio: Huy Fong Foods

¿Estás comiendo salsa 100% de Si Racha?

A pesar de estar basado en salsas del muelle de Tailandia, este aderezo picante no incluye chiles tailandeses, su receta requiere jalapeños rojos, y fue originalmente creada para complementar la cocina vietnamita como el pho.
